On this 18 day tour of the incredibly beautiful Northeast India you will have a unique opportunity to see wild orchids, the second most important Buddhist monastery in the world at Tawang, rare butterflies; drive through dense forests, valleys, frozen lakes and stay in Majuli – the world’s largest river island.
Assam is home to more than half of about 1200 varieties of avifauna recorded in the Indian subcontinent and also provides shelter to 3107 species of flowering plants, 192 species of orchids, 185 species of reptiles, 190 species of mammals and hundreds of species of insects & butterflies. Besides its greatly visited protected areas, Bird Life International has notified about 20 different important Bird Areas in Assam and several others are being added to the proposed list.
One of the world’s greatest rivers, the Brahmaputra runs for 1800 miles from its source in the Tibetan Himalayas to the delta in the Bay of Bengal. It is one of the navigable rivers that supports
cruises. The mighty Brahmaputra is the lifeline of Guwahati which divides the city into two halves. But the most appealing part of Brahmaputra, for tourists and locals alike, is the surreal boat
cruises on its resplendent waters. You will enjoy one such cruise on this tour.
The evening cruise on Brahmaputra is one of the most sought after sightseeing activities in Guwahati as it offers mesmerizing sunset views. The cruise is a compact cultural extravaganza of Assam as it offers live music and dance along with good food. The Dinner Cruise is for about 2 hours and includes a welcome drink, snacks and dinner. The Majuli Island is a unique riverine island in the Brahmaputra river. It is approachable by ferry. You will spend two days there and stay in possibly a baboo cottage !

Arrive IGI International Airport New Delhi. Our representative will receive and transfer you to your hotel in New Delhi. Our ac car with an English-speaking driver will be at your disposal to take you around this magnificent city. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
After breakfast leave for the airport to board your flight to Guwahati, the capital of Assam, and gateway to North East India. On reaching the airport our representative will receive you warmly and first take you to the ancient Kamakhya Temple for blessings of the deity. From here you will be driven to your hotel.
In the evening you will drive to the banks of the awesome River Brahmaputra to take a memorable cruise. You will be served dinner during the cruise ! Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast visit Sualkuchi - a world centre for weaving of traditional silk textiles. This village has a history dating back to the 11th century in this art. The weavers will be delighted to show and explain you the intricate art of weaving silk textiles. In the afternoon visit the Navagraha Temple. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
After an early breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This Park is the only natural habitat in the world with such a large number of one-horned Rhinoceros.
Check into Borgos -The Wild Heaven or equally good resort. Visit the Kaziranga National Orchid Park
that has more than 500 species of orchids. See the Kakochang High Drop Waterfall taking a four km trek. Dinner and overnight at your resort.
Early morning take a thrilling elephant safari and in the evening a jeep safari here. You will encounter hoolock gibbons, tigers, elephants, eastern swamp deer during your time in the Park.
After an early breakfast leave for Dirang on a six -hour drive. You will pass through lovely landscapes with thick forests, rivulets and waterfalls. The beautiful town of Bomdilla, situated 19500 feet above the sea level, will fall on your route. From here the descent will take you to the valley where Dirang lies. Surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges the town has light showers of snow now and then. The atmosphere is serene. Check into your resort. After lunch and some rest visit the Sangti Valley, Dirang Dzong ( Fort ), Mandala Top and Thembang Herlap. Dinner and overnight at your resort.
Now you will travel to the impossibly beautiful and awesome town Tawang.
Arrive Tawang taking the Sela Pass. Check into your hotel. After lunch visit the Tawang Monastery, the Madhuri Lake, Jaswant Garh War Memorial, Nuranag Falls, Bum La Pass.

Drive to Dirang. Check into a hotel. After lunch visit the lovely Chug Valley. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
After breakfast drive to Balipara. Check into the luxury Wild Masheer - a 140-year old
colonial tea plantation bungalow now converted into a heritage property. Learn all about tea plantation and processing techniques. Enjoy bar-be-cue and a sumptuous dinner. Overnight at this bungalow.
After breakfast at Balipara drive to Ziro - a lovely town in Arunachal Pradesh.

Drive from Ziro to Majuli Island. You will take a ferry to reach the island. Check into a bamboo house or cottage. Lunch. Late afternoon explore the island on walking tours. Dinner and overnight at your resort.
After breakfast take a walking tour of Gurmur neighbourhood, the Mask making centre and temple, Sri Sri Auniati Satra Temple, Dakhinpat Satra Palace of Worship. The Island is home to a large variety of birds. You would love to photograph them. Dinner and overnight at your cottage.
After breakfast leave for Pasighat on a memorable six hour drive on a landscape full of thick
forests, rivulets, waterfalls and wild orchids. Enroute pass through Bomdilla town located 19500 feet above sea level. From here descent to a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains
to reach Pasighat. Pasighat frequently receives showers of snow. Check into your hotel.
